Workshop falconry with a hawk

• In the morning the theory of falconry is covered; many things you need to know about managing and handling birds of prey.
• Followed by explanation of all the tools and equipment used in falconry and how they are made; you will also learn how to make the falconers knot..
• A guided tour of the birds of prey park with explanations of the different species of birds of prey and how they differ from each other.
• Around noon lunch is served.
• The afternoon puts the learnt theory into practice. This means you will get aquanted with and work with a bird of prey, and you will experience what it is like when man and raptor become one.
• When this happens to the satisfaction of the falconer, you are ready to fly the bird of prey yourself, thus experiencing what it is like to be a falconer.
• You should soon realise that it is not easy to be a falconer and that it involves a lot of knowledge and hard work.
• At the end of the day there is a debriefing and general discussion session with refreshments.
• As rememberance to an unforgettable day, the falconry gauntlet you used is yours to keep.
